Ghattamaneni Sivarama Krishna Super Star was born on the (31 May 1943), commonly referred to as Krishna, is one of Tollywood's most prolific actors, having acted in more than 350 movies. He is credited with introducing many firsts in Telugu film Industry like first Colour movie, first Cinemascope movie, first 70mm movie, first Cowboy movie. He has also directed seventeen feature films. He was a Member of Parliament from Eluru for the Congress Party. He built the Padmalaya Film Studio in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

He was born in Burripalem village near Tenali, Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, India to Sri Ghatamaneni Veeraraghavayya Chowdhary and Smt. Ghatamaneni Nagaratnamma.He is the eldest of five children born to his parents. He is one of his kind actor.He married Indira in 1965, with whom he has five children: two sons, Ramesh Babu (a film producer) & actor Mahesh Babu; and three daughters; Padmavati, Priyadarshani, and Manjula (a film producer). In 1969, he married actress and director Vijaya Nirmala. Today he continues to act in small but significant roles in telugu films. His son Mahesh Babu has also become one of the top actors in the industry today. He has stated that Mahesh will not enter into any political business what-so-ever.
